Minimal data.
Clear purpose.
Guess the Anime is a Gamecamp game, provided by Gamecamp. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use this free, experimental game.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Discord, we receive the identifiers and profile details needed to create your player account, including your Discord account ID, display name, avatar, and, where supplied by Discord, email address. We also keep session and security information such as authentication tokens, IP address, and user-agent data.
As you play, we store your policy and age confirmation, Daily Challenge progress and streak, submitted guesses, and summarized Live Room placements. A share link contains only its result, action trail, streak, and challenge day; it does not include your account identifier.
If you connect AniList, MyAnimeList, or Kitsu, we query the public username you provide. We retain that username, provider user and media identifiers, normalized list status, progress, provider update time, synchronization state, and the catalog mappings needed for provider-backed Live Rooms and private practice. We do not retain profile biographies, notes, raw provider responses, or provider credentials.
Resolving a list may add high-confidence anime identities and playable content to the shared Master Catalog. Character portraits generated by this process remain hosted by AniList: the game stores the exact reference and relays it through a short-lived signed endpoint with private, no-store caching. Generated catalog records remain globally useful after disconnection, but their connection provenance is anonymized. Generated reference-only sets cannot be scheduled for Daily until a curator separately downloads, validates, retains, and approves them.
How we use it
We use this information to authenticate you, run rooms and Daily Challenges, prevent duplicate seats and abuse, recover connections, calculate results, maintain streaks, and diagnose or protect the service. We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
Who receives it
Discord processes your sign-in under its own terms and privacy policy. If you connect an anime list, AniList, MyAnimeList, or Kitsu receives the relevant public-list query. AniList also receives catalog identity and character-reference queries used to prepare provider-backed content. Each provider processes those requests under its own terms and privacy policy. We also use service providers that host, secure, and operate the game.
How long we keep it
Live Room state is scheduled for deletion within seven days after a room ends. Competitive Mode summaries are removed after up to 90 days. Daily Challenge results remain while your account exists. Anime-list snapshots remain until you disconnect that list or delete your account; short-lived practice sessions expire after six hours. Account and session information remain until you delete your account or we no longer need it to operate and secure the game.
Your choices and requests
You can stop using the game at any time. You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information through the contact below. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights.
You can disconnect any provider from Settings at any time. Disconnecting deletes that connection, its snapshots and entries, and related private practice sessions. Shared catalog identities and generated playable content remain, with connection provenance removed.
Delete your account
Deletion removes account identity, sessions, policy acceptance, account-linked Daily Challenge results, connected anime lists, snapshots, entries, and private practice sessions. Completed placement rows and retained global catalog provenance are anonymized so historical standings and shared playable content remain consistent.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the prototype changes. The date above shows when it was last revised. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
